Update #2

Here's the latest....again.

Our homestudy agency is meeting with the director of Child Protective Services tomorrow to get him to sign the document we need. Well, almost. The document they will sign has all the information of the original requested from Russian court, but they have to put in all the rest of their legal mumbo-jumbo with it. We are not sure if this is going to be acceptable yet, as our adoption coordinator has been mysteriously absent for the past two days. No return of phone calls. No return of e-mails. She is supposed to let us know if this new document is going to be ok, and we are left with silence.

No word back yet on the police clearance letters and whether or not they are going to be acceptable (reference paragraph above, lines 4 & 5).

We are down to 3 business days until we are scheduled to leave, and we still technically don't know whether or not we are good with our documents so that we can keep our court date. Yet, we are packing Misha's suitcase and ours as well. Grandma and grandpa are leaving Wisconsin tomorrow bound for San Diego to watch the boys. Visas will be arriving tomorrow or Saturday. Plane tickets will be here tomorrow. Rooms have been booked. And I spend the bulk of my day talking to my Father in heaven, minute by minute, second by second, putting it all in His hands. Jumping back and forth between nausea and despair, to hope and peace, and back again. As I have said before, it has been His from the beginning. And while I might not see it now, I'm still holding out that one day the purpose for all of this will be revealed.

Please keep us in your prayers. It's working. Don't let up now!

Thanks!
JP

Jeremy and Sara-
We are fervently praying for you- that you ar granted a serenity and peace that trancends all of the craziness going on around you. We feel so helpless and so far away, yet we know Our Father in Heaven is in control.
Grace and peace,
Dennis and Lyn

Praying for God's perfect peace to center you in the midst of this turmoil. We, too, were chasing documents up to the day before we left and it is nerve wracking.

He tells us His peace He leaves us- not as the world sees it- but as He sees it- is perfect. He is the master orchestrator in this amazing masterpiece of your life- he wrote the score the orchestra is playing, and even though the key may seem minor right now, He knows when the next movement starts and will direct you perfectly in His way for you.

Can't wait to see all the glory God is going to get for this last minute miracle. Praying that the folks needing to finish paperwork for your trip feel the same urgency you do for completing it!

God speed in bringing your child home!!

Blessings,

Yesterday morning I was reading Genesis 22, which is the story of when God asked Abraham to kill his one and only son, Isaac, as a sacrifice on Mt. Moriah. Abraham doesn't question God (at least outwardly) and proceeds to do as he was told. As you know - at the end of the story, just as Abraham is about to slay his son, the Lord tells him to not to do it and provides a ram instead.

God told him to do this to test Abraham's faith. He passed the test and God blessed him with descendants as numerous as the sand on the seashore, who would later become a nation.

The result of Abraham's faith celebrates the 60th anniversary of it's most recent incarnation this week.

This same week you have the opportunity to take a similar step of faith. It's a huge step (thousands of miles) and will land you in another part of the world. It also involves a degree of uncertainty as certain details remain unresolved.

I think you're making the right decision to proceed with the trip to Russia to get Mikhail. What better way to express your faith in God than to make this trip while uncertain of it's outcome. I think that God will honor your faith and work out the details.

I felt this way when you emailed me Tuesday and I felt that God wanted me to share that with you as I was reading that story yesterday.

Go get him!
